Recently, Hall County’s seven-man kayak team placed in the Special Olympics state kayak competition on Lake Tobesofkee in Macon. Comprised of students from Johnson, North Hall, West Hall, East Hall and Flowery Branch high schools, the team won two gold medals, one silver medal, one bronze medal and three fourth-place ribbons. “Not bad for a young team that has been paddling for less than a year,” said Scott Crain, a parent mentor with the Hall County Schools Special Education Department.
