Hall County 4-H Club members received recognition at the recent 4-H State Horse Show in Perry.
Lauren Holland, Burgin Lee, Gracie McBride, Susannah McBride, Ali Meek, Mae Musselwhite, Nicole Smith, Cody Woodard and Courtney Woodard represented Hall County in the competition.
Cody Woodard was awarded Champion in the Cloverleaf Stock Seat Division.
Courtney Woodard was awarded Reserve Champion in the Senior Stock Seat Division riding AQHA horse Honestly Good. She also received special acknowledgement as the winner of the public speaking for individual’s demonstration.
Courtney was crowned champion in the Senior Contesting Division, riding AQHA horse Jojos Captain Pine. This is the third year she has won the Contesting Division and second year winning Reserve Champion in the Stock Seat Division.
As a result, Courtney will receive a $500 and $350 scholarship respectively and qualified to represent Georgia 4-H at the Southern Regional Horse Show this month in Raleigh, N.C.
The 4-H Southern Regional consists of 13 states extending from Florida to Virginia and over to Oklahoma and Texas. For the speaking contest, participates had to win their division. For the riding events, individuals had to place in top five of their riding division at state 4-H show.
