The Tanger Outlet Center in Commerce recently awarded $28,834.35 to the Northeast Georgia branch of the American Cancer Society. The donation is part of Tanger’s Annual Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, and the check presentation took place at Tanger’s annual merchant luncheon and awards program at the Commerce Civic Center.

Boy Scout Troop 303 recently honored Roger Clayton Greer III for reaching the rank of Eagle Scout at the January 17th Court of Honor at Camp Hope. Greer is a Junior at Lumpkin County High School and the son of Georgia and Roger Greer of Dahlonega.

Cargill recently announced a $30,000 donation to fight hunger in the Gainesville community.

The Gainesville branch of the company is distributing these funds evenly between A New Walk food shelf and Caring Hands Food Ministry. The Gainesville effort is part of Cargill’s ongoing effort to fight hunger through both long-term solutions and emergency grants. The company is an international producer and marketer of food, agricultural, financial and industrial products and services.
