Gary and Vanessa Wilson of Clermont announce the engagement of their daughter Mary Katherine "Mary Kate" Wilson to Nicholas "Nick" Vincent Snider, son of Joseph Snider and Jacq Coogan, both of Hume, Va..

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of James and Mary Grace Meeks of Rome and the late Osborne and Mary Wilson.

She is a 1999 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2003 from Reinhardt College in Waleska with a bachelor's degree in communication. She is employed as a wish manager with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Georgia and Alabama in Marietta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Edgar "Ray" and Sue Snider of The Plains, Va., and the late Vincent and Kathryn Coogan.

He is a 2000 graduate of Fauquier High School in Warrenton, Va. He graduated in 2004 from Radford University in Radford, Va., with a bachelor's degree in media production. He is employed as the director of video services with The Flashpoint Group Inc. in Marietta.

The couple plan to wed Aug. 8, 2009, at Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris.
