Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Welch of McComb announce the engagement of their daughter Veronica Dionne Welch to Matthew Stephen Wilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Scott J. Belham of Gulfport, Miss., and Mr. and Mrs. John S. Wilson of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Grady and Cornelia Crawford of McComb, Katie Granger Welch of McComb, the late James L. Van Norman and the late Henry E. Welch.

She is a graduate of McComb High School in McComb. She graduated in 2006 from the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in speech communications. She is employed by AmerOne Inc. in Birmingham, Ala.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Burnell and Virginia McMahan of Hattiesburg, Miss., John and Elaine Belham of Gulfport, Clifton and Rita Luther of Andrews, S.C., and the late James and Ruth Wilson.

He is a graduate of Harrison Central High School in Gulfport. He graduated in 2006 from the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He is employed by Southern Co. in Birmingham, Ala.

The couple plans to wed April 12, 2008, at Dunleith Plantation in Natchez. Miss.
