Wyman and Linda Walden of Dahlonega announce the engagement of their daughter Brittany Sloane Walden to Matthew Van Mundy, son of Betty Sue and Willard Hearin of Lawrenceville and Van and Cathy Mundy of Jefferson.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Leamon and Betty Walden and Dock and Faye Gooch.

She is a 2003 graduate of Lumpkin County High School in Dahlonega. She graduated in 2008 from the University of West Georgia in Carrollton with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications. She is employed in patient services with Thomas Eye Group in Atlanta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Clarence and Doris Mundy of Sugar Hill and James Rowe Garner of Norcross and the late Frances Garner.

He is a 2003 graduate of Dacula High School in Dacula. He graduated in 2006 from the University of West Georgia in Carrollton with a bachelor’s degree in history. He is employed as a senior economics teacher and varsity football coach with Lithia Springs High School in Douglasville.

The couple plan to wed June 19, 2010, in Cumming.
