Bobby and Jennie Vaughan of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Lori Patricia Vaughan to Gregory Trent Smallwood, son of Greg and Mary Smallwood of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Corrie Nix of Gainesville, the late J.C. Nix and the late V.J. and Jean Vaughan.

She is a 2002 graduate of Johnson High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2005 from Piedmont College in Demorest with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She is pursuing her master’s degree in early childhood reading and math with Walden University in Minneapolis, Minn. She is employed as a kindergarten teacher with Spout Springs Elementary School in Flowery Branch.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Don and Jean Smallwood of Gainesville, Sybil Eades of Gainesville and the late Lewis Eades.

He is a 2003 graduate of West Hall High School in Oakwood. He graduated in 2007 from Piedmont College with a bachelor’s degree in business. He is employed as an educator with Gainesville High School in Gainesville.

The couple plans to wed July 26, 2008, at Chestnut Mountain Church in Chestnut Mountain.
