William and Nancy Steiner of Duluth announce the engagement of their daughter Julia Rose Steiner to Brent Newman Kempler, son of Gary and Lynn Kempler of Flowery Branch.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Rose and Charlie Kurkie of Detroit, Mich., and the late Harold and Gloria Steiner of Bay City, Mich.

She is a 2001 graduate of Duluth High School in Duluth. She graduated in 2003 from Brown College with a bachelor's degree in communications. She is employed as a project manager at Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Annette and Israel Katz of Atlanta, and the late Herb and Janet Kempler of Atlanta.

He is a 1995 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 1999 from Emory University with a bachelor's degree in psychology.

He is employed as a director by Brightline Media Group in Atlanta.

The couple plan to wed Sept. 2, 2012, at The Defoor Centre in Atlanta.
