William Duttweiler and Raleigh-Elizabeth Smith

Ms. Margaret-Hope Womble Smith of Owing Mills, Md., Mr. and Mrs. William Keller Smith of Richfield, Ohio, announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Raleigh-Elizabeth Keller Smith to 1st Lt. William Hunter Duttweiler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Leonard Duttweiler of Clermont.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Col. and Mrs. Phelps Raleigh Womble of Inverness, Ala., and Mrs. Jean Horn Smith and the late Mr. Franklin Keller Smith of Upper Arlington, Ohio.

She is a 2000 graduate of Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass. She graduated in 2004 from Barnard College, Columbia University with a bachelor’s degree in urban studies, European history and sociology. She received a master’s degree at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in 2009. She received a master’s degree at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs in 2010. She is a 2012 doctoral candidate at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Henry of Pinckney, Mich., and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Duttweiler of Hernando, Fla.

He is a 2005 graduate of South Gwinnett High School in Snellville. He graduated in 2009 from Georgia Southern University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He is currently serving as a ground intelligence officer by the United States Marine Corps in Camp Lejeune, N.C. He will be deploying this fall as the intelligence advisor for the Police Advisory Team in Marjeh, Afghanistan.

The couple plan to wed April 28, 2012, at The Duttweiler Farm in Clermont.
