Larry and Franka Siscel of Evansville, Ind., announce the engagement of their daughter Dawn Marie Siscel to Robert Gaines Swift, son of Robert Lee Jr. and Julia Swift of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Siscel, the late Mrs. Louise Baumgardt and the late Ernest Shoaf.

She is a 1996 graduate of North Posey High School in Poseyville, Ind. She graduated in 2002 from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is employed as a kindergarten teacher with West Clayton Elementary School in Clayton, N.C.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Lee Audis Gaines of Autaugaville, Ala., the late W.H. Gaines Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Swift Sr.

He is a 2001 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2005 from Wingate University in Wingate, N.C., with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. He is employed as a photographer with Lifetouch in Raleigh, N.C.

The couple plans to wed July 12, 2008, at St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ in Evansville.
