Joe and Gwen Salas of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Amy Elizabeth Salas to Jeffrey Howell Stewart, son of Janet and Boyd Helm of Gainesville and Jeff and Amy Stewart of Cleveland.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Margaret Brown of Fresno, Calif., the late David Brown and the late Jose and Evangelina Salas.

She is a 2004 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She plans to graduate in May 2008 from Medical College of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She is employed as a nurse extern with Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Howell and Audrey Thomas of Gainesville and Vonda Westgate of Cleveland.

He is a 2007 graduate of Eagle Christian Academy in Gainesville. He is pursuing a degree from Gainesville State College in Oakwood majoring in mechanical engineering. He is employed as a maintenance/engineering technician with ATS Tech Solutions Inc. in Gainesville.

The couple plans to wed May 10, 2008, at First United Methodist Church in Gainesville.
