Randall and Karen Cox Ragan of Maysville announce the engagement of their daughter Carey Leigh Ragan to Richard Allen Elliott Jr., son of Richard and Jill Elliott of Talmo.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Louise Cox of Sautee, the late Kary Cox, JoAnn Ragan of Maysville and the late Lester and Helen Ragan.

She is a 2000 graduate of Jackson County Comprehensive High School in Jefferson. She graduated in 2005 from North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education and special education. She is employed as a special education teacher with West Jackson Primary School in Braselton.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Wylie and Shirley McEver of Dawsonville and Louise Shippen of Cleveland.

He is a 2004 graduate of Jackson County Comprehensive High School in Jefferson. He is employed by Elliott Enterprises and the U.S. Postal Service in Talmo.

The couple plan to wed June 18, 2011, at Center Grove Baptist Church in Pendergrass.
