Kathy Presley of Gainesville announces the engagement of her daughter Emily Rose Presley to Matthew Douglas Pitts, son of Doug and Carol Pitts of Lula.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Sarah and the late Ronald Presley of Gainesville.

She is a 2007 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2011 from North Georgia College & State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She is pursuing a master's degree at North Georgia College & State University. She is employed at Gainesville First United Methodist Church in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Joyce and the late Lindsey Wiley of Lula, and Betty Jene Dube of Gainesville and the late Watson Pitts of Mount Airy.

He is a 2008 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He plans to graduate in 2012 from North Georgia College & State University with a bachelor's degree in business management. He is employed by Service Solutions in Gainesville.

The couple plan to wed Aug. 11, 2012, at Gainesville First United Methodist Church in Gainesville.
