Becky Pratt of Gainesville announces the engagement of her daughter Nicole Elizabeth Pratt to Daniel Anthony Bowers, son of Randy and Suzie Bowers of Sugar Hill. The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Michael Pratt.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ray and Sharon Pratt of Waukon, Iowa, and the late Richard and Rita M. Gerleman.

She is a 2005 graduate of Chestatee High School in Gainesville. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing from Gainesville State College in Oakwood.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Jerome Edwards of Marietta, the late Marguerite Edwards and the late William and Victoria Bowers.

He is a 2000 graduate of North Gwinnett High School. He received a degree in machine shop from Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville. He is serving in Afghanistan with the National Guard.

The couple plan to wed December 2010.
