Susan Pomrenke of Oakwood and Russ Pomrenke of Braselton announce the engagement of their daughter Laura Ann Pomrenke to Timothy Shannon Reed, son of Tim and Sandra Reed of Oakwood.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mary Dunn of Louisville, Ky., the late Lowell Dunn and the late Jake and Carol Pomrenke.

She is a 2003 graduate of West Hall High School in Oakwood. She graduated in 2007 from North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse with Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Hugh and Janette Reed of Oakwood and the late Ralph and Linnie Bell Shewbert.

He is a 1997 graduate of West Hall High School in Oakwood. He graduated in 2003 from North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega with a bachelor's degree in physics. He is employed as a manager with Ruby Tuesday in Winder.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 18, 2008, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch.
