Ken and Michele Meyer of Lexington, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter Ashley Elizabeth Meyer to James Harold Kilpatrick Jr., son of Jim and Ann Kilpatrick of Gainesville.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Joyce Meyer of Lexington, Jim Meyer of Panama City, Fla., Eloise Hood of Alamonte Springs, Fla., and Charles Anderson of Winter Gardens, Fla.
She is a 2001 graduate of Lexington High School in Lexington. She graduated in 2005 from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., with a bachelor’s degree in English and American studies. She received a juris doctorate at the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens. She is employed as an attorney with Swift, Currie McGhee and Hiers in Atlanta.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Jodie and Juanita Cannon of Norcross, Abbie Jean Kilpatrick of Buford and the late Harold Kilpatrick.
He is a 2000 graduate of West Hall High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2004 from Furman University in Greenville, S.C., with a bachelor’s degree in political science and accounting. He received a master’s degree in public administration at the University of Georgia in Athens. He is employed as a consultant with BearingPoint Inc., Washington.
The couple plan to wed March 28, 2009, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lexington.
