Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Lanier of Carrollton announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Jami Bess Lanier to Mr. Blake Duffie Justus, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Justus of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Betty Preston Lynch of Carrollton, the late Mr. Jesse D. Lynch, the late Mr. Donald J. Meeks and the late Mr. and Mrs. William E. Lanier.

She is a 2000 graduate of Central High School in Carrollton. She received a doctorate in pharmacy in 2007 from Mercer University in Atlanta. She is employed as a pharmacist with Tallapoosa Drug Co. in Tallapoosa. She is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jewel M. Justus of Dahlonega, Mrs. Sue Allison of Cleveland and the late Rev. Charles F. Allison Sr.

He is a 2000 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2005 from the University of West Georgia in Carrollton with a bachelor's degree in finance and real estate. He is employed as a national account pricing analyst with Saia Inc. in Suwanee. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Order.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 10, 2009, in Carrollton.
