Wade and Dotty Kolb of Sumter, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter Sally Skardon Kolb to Zachary Brooks Pittman, son of Rudy and Melissa Pittman of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of James Warren Skardon of Walterboro, S.C., the late Geraldine Graham Skardon, and the late Wade Stackhouse and Rebecca Bartlett Kolb.

She is a graduate of Wilson Hall High School in Sumter. She graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C., with a bachelor's degree in marketing and management. She received a doctorate of jurisprudence at the University of South Carolina and a master's degree in accountancy from Moore School of Business in Columbia. She is employed as a judicial law clerk to G. Thomas Cooper Jr. in Columbia.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mary Nell and Charles Winfred Pittman Sr. of McCaysville and the late Dorothy Waters and Thurman Brooks McPherson.

He is a 1999 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia with a bachelor's degree in finance and real estate. He is vice president of Pittman Dental Laboratory in Gainesville.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 4, 2008, at The Church of the Holy Comforter in Sumter.
