Gregory Corral and Melissa Ketchum

Judy L. Ketchum of Dahlonega and Heinz R. Ketchum of Dahlonega announce the engagement of their daughter Melissa DeAnn Ketchum to Gregory Scot-Allen Corral, son of Pam Corral of Los Angeles, Calif., and Victor Corral of Alto.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jack and Mollie Loggins of Dahlonega, Emma Murphy of Dixon, Ill., and the late Sam Ketchum.

She is a 1999 graduate of Lumpkin County High School in Dahlonega. She graduated in 2003 from Brenau University in Gainesville with a bachelor's degree in conflict resolution and legal studies. She is employed as a provider relations representative with Georgia Health Partners owned by Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville. She is an alumna member of Phi Mu fraternity and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Dahlonega.

The groom-elect is a 2004 graduate of Habersham Central High School in Mount Airy. He is pursuing a degree from Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville in culinary arts. He is employed as a chef with Yahoola Creek Grill in Dahlonega.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 24, 2009, at The Community House in Cornelia.
