David A. and Robin Jones of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Ashley Nicole Jones to Adam Charles Butz, son of Gregory and Kathy Butz of Laurens, S.C.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Larry and Sue Ryder of Flowery Branch and the late Hammond and Gertrude Jones.

She is a 2003 graduate of Johnson High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2007 from North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She received a master's degree at North Georgia College & State University in 2008. She is employed as an English to Speakers of Other Languages teacher at East Hall Middle School in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Doris Sprang of Laurens, the late Clarence Sprang, Charles Butz of Kittanning, Pa., the late Edna Butz and the late Charles and Gertrude Melton.

He is a 2003 graduate of Laurens District 55 High School in Laurens. He graduated in 2008 from Clemson University in Clemson, S.C., with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. He is employed as a poly/utilities engineer with Shaw Industries in Clemson, S.C.

The couple plan to wed June 6, 2010, at the Braselton-Stover House in Braselton.
