Calvin and Kathy Hood of Blairsville announce the engagement of their daughter Melissa Hood to Casey Clark, son of Terry and Dot Clark of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lavada Hood Wilson of Blairsville, the late Eugene Hood and the late Nathan and Shelby Dyer.

She is a 2000 graduate of Union County High School in Blairsville. She attended Young Harris College in Young Harris and graduated in 2004 from North Georgia State College & University in Dahlonega. She is pursuing a master’s degree in occupational therapy at Brenau University in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Hoyt and Sally Faye Clark and the late Elmer and Edith O’Bryant.
He is a 1994 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He is employed by UPS in Gainesville.

The couple plan to wed Aug. 9, 2008,  in Blairsville.
