Martha Rae Saxon of Cleveland announces the engagement of her daughter Amanda Ray Henderson to Thomas Royce Lucas, son of Royce and Carolyn Williams Lucas of Jeffersonville. The bride is the daughter of the late Ray Alan Henderson.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Benny and Rebecca Fleming Allison of Cleveland, the late Billy Ray Saxon, Pat Jones Henderson of Baldwin and the late Ray Henderson. The bride-elect is the great-granddaughter of the late Ray and Mary Saxon.

She is a 2002 graduate of White County High School in Cleveland. She graduated in 2005 from Ogeechee Technical College in Statesboro with an associate's degree in applied technology in funeral service education. She is employed as a funeral director with Crest Lawn Funeral Home in Macon. She is a member of the Georgia Academy of Graduate Embalmers and the Independent Funeral Directors of Georgia.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Martha Gresham Williams of Dry Branch, the late Curtis Williams, Joyce Hasty Lucas of Danville and the late Johnny "Bud" Lucas.

He is a 1995 graduate of Trinity Christian School in Dublin. He graduated in 2002 from Middle Georgia Policy Academy in Macon. He is employed as a corporal in the patrol division with the Twiggs County Office of the Sheriff. He is the 2006 recipient of the Kyle Dinkheller Twiggs County Deputy of the Year Award.

The couple plans to wed May 2008 in Jeffersonville.
