Dr. and Mrs. Jack Thurmon Griffeth of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Kirkley Ann Griffeth to Mr. Brian Hampton Jock, son of Ms. Patti Lee Jock of Wilmington, N.C. and Mr. Frank William Jock of Madison, Ala.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ann Thurmon Griffeth of Commerce, the late Dr. Joe L. Griffeth Sr., Mrs. Barbara Kirkley Kelley of Hartsville, S.C., and the late Mr. James Dickson Kelley.

She is a 2005 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2009 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in health promotion. She is attending Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville, Tenn.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Ms. Julia Ann Perkins of Topsail Island, N.C., the late Mr. Thomas Lee Perkins and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles William Jock.

He is a 2005 graduate of East Coweta High School in Sharpsburg. He graduated in 2009 from The University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in biological science. He is attending Georgia State University in Atlanta.

The couple plan to wed Dec. 10, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church in Gainesville.
