The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Reginald and Sammye Cochran of Lula, Vicki Gilmer of Gainesville and the late Hearl Gilmer.

She is a 1998 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2002 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor’s degree in family and consumer science. She is employed as a director of sales with My Pool Pal in Alto. She is a member of the Hall County Junior Service League.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Rachel Sims of Athens, the late David Sims and the late Frances and Dan Syfan.

He is a 1999 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2004 from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro with a bachelor’s degree in logistics and intermodal transportation. He is employed as a logistics manager with Lamb, Britt & Gilmer in Gainesville. He is a member of the Gainesville Jaycees and Kappa Alpha Order.

The couple plans to wed July 11, 2008, at the bride’s parent’s home in Lula.
