Glenn and Sandra Garner of Rock Spring announce the engagement of their daughter Glenda Brooke Garner to Allen Wayne Thompson, son of Danny and Nancy Thompson of Flowery Branch.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Willie Garner of LaFayette, the late J.C. Garner and the late T.R. and Ida Mae Hix.

She is a 1999 graduate of LaFayette High School in LaFayette. She graduated in 2003 from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta with a bachelor's degree in business management. She is employed as a director of customer care with LocumTenens.com in Alpharetta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Julian and Grace Davis of Flowery Branch, Irelle Thompson of Danielsville and the late James A. Thompson.

He is a 1995 graduate of Tallulah Falls School in Tallulah Falls. He is employed as a locomotive engineer with Norfolk Southern Railroad in Atlanta. He was in the U.S. Army and served in Bosnia.

The couple plan to wed Nov. 16, 2008, at The Hazelhurst House in McDonough.
