Trudy and Ricky Tritt of Dahlonega announce the engagement of their daughter Gretchen Nicole Fortner to Joshua Nicholas Kistler, son of Pamela Cahoon of Cumming and James Kistler of Alpharetta. The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Kenneth Fortner.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Cleta Mae Fortner of Dahlonega, the late Ed Fortner, Mary Mincey of Dahlonega and the late Carroll Mincey.

She is a 2004 graduate of Lumpkin County High School in Dahlonega. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree from North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega. She is employed as an office assistant with Mountain View Pediatrics in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Elise and John Kistler of Jasper and Marilyn and Gordon Cahoon of Alpharetta.

He is a 1997 graduate of Lakeland Senior High School in Lakeland, Fla. He attended Polk Community College in Lakeland. He graduated in 2008 from Georgia Multiple Listing Service Real Estate School in Cumming. He is employed with Chili's Bar and Grill in Cumming.

The couple plan to wed Aug. 1, 2009, on the beach in Panama City, Fla.
