Mr. and Mrs. Skip Ecke of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Rachel Jeananne Ecke to Mr. Michael Andrew Lawley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Lawley of Snellville .

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Earl B. Roehm of Roswell, the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ecke, and the late Mr. James Bailey.

She is a 2005 graduate of West Hall High School in Oakwood. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in recreation and leisure studies from the University of Georgia in Athens. She is employed as a volleyball coach with Georgia Juniors Volleyball Club in Athens.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Newton of Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. William Rhodes of Erie, Pa., and the late Mr. Serge Lawley.

He is a 2003 graduate of South Gwinnett High School in Snellville. He graduated in 2007 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor’s degree in social science education and a master’s degree in educational administration in 2010. He is employed as a social studies teacher and basketball coach with Buford High School in Buford.

The couple plan to wed June 25, 2010, at Watkinsville First Baptist Church in Watkinsville.
