Steve and Kim Smith of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Tabitha Noell Dial to Jacob Edwin Hale, son of Jane Ogletree of Cleveland and Burt Hale of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Larry and Rebecca Young, Alton and Virginia Smith, all of Gainesville, the late Charles and Jeanette Dial and the late Patricia "Goss" Young.

She is a 2002 graduate of East Hall High School in Gainesville. She is an administrative secretary with the City of Oakwood.

The groom-elect is the grandson of John and Maxine King of Lexington, N.C.

He is a 1998 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He is employed as a sales representative with Freedom Trans USA in Gainesville.

The couple plan to wed June 19, 2010, at Elachee Nature Center in Gainesville.
