Melvin and Deborah Cooper of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Anna Catherine Cooper to Harold Wilson Thomas III, son of Mac and Ann Milner of Savannah. The groom-elect is the son of the late Harold Wilson Thomas Jr.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Rowena Cushing Lord of Commerce, the late K.D. Lord and the late Homer and Frances Wilbanks.

She is a 1999 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2005 from the University of Georgia's College of Pharmacy with a Doctorate of Pharmacy. She is employed as a pharmacist with Walgreens in Kingsland.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Robert and Dolly Harley and the late Harold and Mercey Thomas.

He is a 1990 graduate of Calvary Baptist School in Savannah. He attended Armstrong Atlantic University in Savannah and is employed as general manager and golf professional with Laurel Island Plantation in Kingsland.

The couple plan to wed Aug. 23, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Gainesville.
