Mr. and Mrs. Wesley P. Compton of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Heather Leigh Compton to Mr. Jason Andrew Ott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth W. Ott Sr. of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Suzanne C. Compton of Gainesville, the late Mr. William I. Compton and Dr. and Mrs. Joel F. Pounds of Statesboro.

She is a 2000 graduate of Johnson High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2005 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She is employed as a hair and makeup artist/salon director with Princeton Salon and Spa in Gainesville and Buford.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Col. and Mrs. Robert W. Ott and the late Mr. and Mrs. Elmer C. Vires.

He is a 2001 graduate of West Hall High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2006 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in education. He is employed as an underwriter with Aetna Health Care in Alpharetta.

The couple plan to wed July 30, 2011, at The University of Georgia Chapel in Athens.
