Mrs. Charlene C. Praytor of Gainesville and Mr. Terrell W. Chapman of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Heather Denise Chapman to  Mr. Preston Jack Skinner, son of Ms. Anita Kay Lawson of Gainesville and Mr. and Mrs. Jack L. Skinner of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Eunise J. Humphries of Gainesville, the late Mr. Charles Humphries, Mrs. Acie H. Chapman of Gainesville and the late Mr. Jess Chapman.

She is a 1992 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. She attended Brenau University in Gainesville and graduated in 1995 from Gainesville State College in Oakwood with an associate’s degree in psychology. She is employed as a beverage attendant with Chicopee Woods Golf Course in Gainesville.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Juanita L. Ewing of Gainesville, the late Mr. Henry Lawson, Mrs. Jerry S. Jones of Gainesville and the late Mr. Clyde Skinner.

He is a 1995 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He attended Lanier Technical Institute in Oakwood and graduated in 1999 from Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville. He is employed as a computer engineer with IS Consulting in Gainesville.

The couple plans an open-church wedding for 6 p.m. Aug. 16, 2008, at Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville.
