Mary Anna Allison of Cleveland announces the engagement of her daughter Deena Ann Allison to Dennis Warren Handy, son of Dorothy May Handy of Young Harris. The bride is the daughter of the late H.A. Allison and the groom is the son of the late Paris Dennis Handy.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Maude and Horace B. Moore, and the late Cora and Ben G. Allison.

She is a 1978 graduate of White County High School in Cleveland. She graduated in 1982 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in management science and earned a bachelor's degree from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing in Atlanta in psychology of nursing. She received a master's degree at Georgia State University in Atlanta in community counseling. She is employed as a psyche nurse with AmediSys Co. of Tugaloo Home Health Agency in Northeast Georgia. She is a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Ethel and Loyd Handy and the late Edith and Floyd Miller.

He is a graduate of Tuscarawas Valley High School in Zoarville, Ohio. He is employed by McKee Foods in Chattanooga, Tenn. He is a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association.

The couple plans to wed Sept. 24, 2008, in Cana, Israel.
