Alvan and Sara Adams of Paradise Valley, Ariz., announce the engagement of their daughter Emily Grace Adams to Matthew Bryan Knight, son of Timothy and Beverly Knight of Gainesville.

She is a 2001 graduate of Xavier College Preparatory School in Phoenix. She graduated in 2005 from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles with a bachelor's degree in international relations. She is employed as a director of volleyball promotions with Mizuno USA in Norcross.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Harvey and Myrtice Knight of Cartersville and Billy and Margaret Goble of Buford.

He is a 2003 graduate of Parkview High School in Lilburn. He graduated in 2007 from Davidson College in Davidson, N.C., with a bachelor's degree in economics. He is employed as an analyst with Keybank in Atlanta.

The couple plan to wed Jan. 16, 2010, at Superstition Mountain Country Club in Superstition Mountain, Ariz.
