Monte and Martha Trout of Gainesville celebrated their 50th anniversary on July 11, 2009. A surprise reception held Aug. 15, 2009, in their honor at Midway United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Gillsville was given by their children Happy Ferguson and Matt Trout and their families.

The couple have two children and four grandchildren.
