Loyd and Ellen Martin of Gainesville celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 25, 2010. The couple celebrated with a trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and a family trip to Panama City Beach, Fla.

The couple have three children Robin Simpson, Rachel Tipton and Rebecca Towe and eight grandchildren.
