James and Geneva Abercrombie of Oakwood celebrated their 50th anniversary on Nov. 8, 2008.

The couple celebrated with a trip to North Carolina and Tennessee, which included a train ride around the mountains.

They said they made it through these hardships because their relationship and love was enough to keep them together for 50 years.

The couple have two children, five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
