The Magical Mystery Tour Bus will make a stop in Demorest tonight. Four guys with dark hair, all wearing the same mod suits will take the stage and start singing in front of psychedelic backdrops. They have an uncanny resemblance to The Beatles, they even sound like The Beatles, but they are not The Beatles. They are The Return, and 50 years after The Beatles first performed in Liverpool, England, The Return will bring their version of Beatlemania to the Arrendale Amphitheater at Piedmont College in Demorest. The performance is set for 7:30 tonight. Admission is $10 at the door. Piedmont faculty, staff and students, as well as children younger than 5, are admitted free. You may feel like you have traveled back in time as the faux fab four perform songs, featuring vintage instruments, that The Beatles would have played in a live concert setting. The performance will span the hits played at Liverpool’s Cavern Club in 1960 to their final American tour in 1966. The Arrendale Amphitheater is located adjacent to the Swanson Center for Performing Arts and Communications on College Drive off of Georgia Street. The venue features open-air stadium seating with plenty of room to bring your favorite folding chair or cushions and cooler. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.
