The ninth annual Clermont Days will take place Saturday in Clermont with food, music and family events.

Event organizers call it a fun-filled day for adults, kids and kids at-heart.

"We will kick off the day at 8 a.m. with a 5K run/walk. There will also be children's activities," said Valerie Kirves of Iron Accents, an event sponsor.

Entertainment will include gospel, blues, cloggers, country, bluegrass and rock 'n' roll bands. Kirves said there will be a horseshoes throwing contest 10 a.m. with sign up at 9.

But if you don't have much aim, sit back and watch the Miss Clermont Pageant, which starts at 10.

"This year, we will be hosting the Antique Auto Show at 2 p.m., as well as an open house from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with prizes, discounts, home decor demonstrations and complimentary food samples," said Kirves.

A variety of arts and craft vendors, as well as food booths will be on hand, Kirves said. The annual parade starts at 1 p.m. and the evening is capped by a fireworks show at dark.

Kirves said the event is a great opportunity for early holiday shoppers to "find plenty of gift ideas and home decorations."

"Clermont Days is a celebration for the entire community," said Kirves.
