It was all in good fun at the fourth annual Dancing for a Cause, but there were good intentions behind the night of music and fun.
The event held Saturday at the Chattahoochee Country Club served as a fundraiser for three local charities: Gainesville-Hall County Alliance for Literacy, Center Point and Rape Response Inc.
Katie Nordholz (and pro Efrain Davila Jr.) won the Community Star at Saturday’s Dancing for a Cause. She had a perfect three 10s with her tap routine.
Michael Callahan (and pro Amanda Watkins) won the Mirror Ball trophy, which is determined by a combination of votes, money raised and dance score.
The judges were Sam Couvillon (last year’s Community star), Brooke Kalinauskas (last year’s Mirror Ball winner), and Nettie Hatchett, a professional dancer and choreographer.
This year’s event raised more than $200,000 for Alliance for Literacy, Center Point and Rape Response. There were 428 guests in attendance at the Chattahoochee Country Club.
This year’s celebrity dancers included Danita Hamilton, Lori DeLong, Anjana Freeman, Nordholz, Lynn Weber, Callahan, Lee Koontz, Joe Dix and Charlie Miller.
