Members of The Homeland Boys, a Southern gospel group based in Flowery Branch, recently were invited to the Music City Gospel Showcase in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

The trio was one of 48 groups performing at the event. Performances also included legends such as Bill Shaw and Roy McNeal. The showcase started about 10 years ago as a way to promote independent gospel groups.

The Homeland Boys sang for three days — June 16 through last Saturday — and during the event’s final evening, the group was awarded Trio of the Year and Entertainer of the Year.

The showcase will air later this year on WATC-TV Channel 57 in Atlanta and online at www.nashvillebroadcastingnet work.tv.
