Check out White County rockers The Modern Society on Friday before they hit the road for a tour that will stretch "as far west as Austin (Texas) and as far north as Boston," according to bass player Chris Martin.

The Modern Society takes the stage for a show Friday night at Locos.

"We've been playing a lot and we just got back from New Orleans and we've got a huge fall and winter tour coming up," Martin said. "The majority of the stuff that we'll be playing is off the new record ("The Beat Goes On") and then also some new tunes, which we'll be in the studio in October working on some new tracks for an EP that we're going to put out."

The band signed a record deal with Original Signal/Epic Records in 2007 and followed up their first album, "Friends and Enemies," with featured songs "Tokyo," "1992," "Sidewalks" and "Almanac" from "The Beat Goes On" in 2009.

Other members of the band are lead vocalist and guitarist Woody Brown along with Cleveland natives Thomas Carter on drums and Tyler Bence on guitar and back-up vocals.
