Moms and their little boys — of all ages — have an extra night of Halloween fun thanks to an event from Gainesville Parks and Recreation.

The Mother Son Spooktacular is a Halloween costume dance set for 5:30-8 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Gainesville Civic Center on Green Street.

Space is limited, so register your little pumpkin by Oct. 19. Tickets are $20, and include dinner and a gift.

Moms and their boys can dress in matching costumes, follow a special theme, or moms can simply let their little ones get another night out of their special Halloween getup.

For Valentine’s Day, Parks and Rec traditionally holds a series of daddy-daughter dances. So, this event is a chance for moms to get in on the fun, according to Julie Butler Colombini, marketing and communications coordinator for Gainesville Parks and Recreation.
