Thompson: Duct tape comes in handy yet again

If you own one of those battery-operated wall clocks, I have a tip for you. Consider duct taping a bunch of extra batteries to the back of the clock. When it is time to replace the batteries, they'll be right there.

There have been a lot of thefts in gyms where criminals rummage through unattended gym bags looking for valuables. Here's a great tip to keep you from becoming a victim. Take a tennis ball and cut a several-inch slit in it. Now you can store your valuables in the tennis ball. (Just don't forget and try to play tennis with it.)

Do your kids have some Lego blocks that seem permanently stuck together? Use some WD-40 to unstick them. Just spray it on the seam and gently work the pieces apart. (Make sure to wash the blocks well afterward.)

Speaking of WD-40, a lot of people don't know that it works on bee stings. Vinegar is the usual cure, but I bet you can find your WD-40 quicker than the vinegar. (It should be located right next to your duct tape!)
