Do you see the numbers 25 and 45 embedded in the pictures at left? If not, you might suffer from color blindness. (What other columnist will give you an eye test?)
A problem with shish kebabs is that the meat on them can get stuck to the sticks during cooking. How do you prevent this from happening? Spray the wooden or metal sticks with nonstick cooking spray before putting the meat and vegetables on them. By the way, you can also use cooking spray on your cheese grater. The spray acts as a lubricant that allows the cheese to slide easily across the grater.
I really like this tip. The next time you have to clean the shower don't use a sponge. Instead use an "exfoliating glove." (It's also known as a loofah glove.) The glove makes the job easier and will protect your hand!
Are you thinking about getting into rental properties? I have two words for you: Be careful. Several of my friends and I have been doing it for some time. First, let me tell you that the get-rich-quick real estate schemes on late night television are bogus. Rental properties are a long-term investment, and they require a lot of work. Second, a lot of people who get into rental properties underestimate the expenses associated with them. (In one year I put almost $8,000 into one of my rental properties.) Finally, if you can't be hard-nosed with tenants who are paying late, you don't need to be a landlord. Rental properties are not for the weak-of-heart. Again, be careful and make sure you do your homework before buying.
OK, a lot of you may already know this tip, but I bet there are a lot of you out there who don't. What's the best way to remove the core from a head of lettuce? Hold the lettuce in your hand and with the stem pointing down, slam the lettuce head down on a hard surface. The core will be dislodged and will easily come out.
