Samantha Thomas had a two-run homer in the first inning to spark Buford to a 14-0 win in the regular-season Region 8-AAAA championship against Madison County on Thursday in Danielsville.

Sydney Stavro finished 3 for 5 with a triple, two RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base for the Lady Wolves (25-1, 8-0 Region 8-AAAA), and Baylee Sexton was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Bria Bush earned her 10th complete game and fifth shutout win of the season from the circle.

Buford plays host to North Gwinnett on Monday.

BANKS COUNTY 1, DAWSON COUNTY 0: Mallory Parson’s complete-game no-hitter was the deciding factor for the Lady Leopards on Thursday in Homer.

Parson struck out 13 from the circle to lead Banks County. Abby Baird recorded a double and a run scored, and Kelyn Parson, Shelby Parson and Madison Beauchamp each notched singles.

With the win, the Lady Leopards secure the No. 1 spot in Region 7-AAA.

Banks County (17-5, 10-1 Region 7-AAA) visits West Hall on Tuesday in Oakwood.

HEBRON CHRISTIAN 8, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 6: Hanna Grogan led the Lady Lions at the plate, going 3 for 4 with an RBI on Thursday in Dacula.

Alyx Kanaday added a pair of RBIs for Lakeview Academy (3-12) in a 2-for-4 performance.

The Lady Lions visit Providence Christian on Saturday in Lilburn.

JEFFERSON 7, JACKSON COUNTY 0: Olivia Husted tallied four RBIs in a 3-for-4 performance for the Lady Dragons on Thursday in Jefferson.

Arynn Baker was 4 for 4 with an RBI for Jefferson, and Emily Dufty finished 2 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI.

Husted earned the win pitching with 10 strikeouts.

The Lady Dragons play host to East Jackson on Tuesday in Jefferson.


LAKEVIEW DEFEATS JOHNSON: Samantha Summerville led Johnson with four aces and two digs in Thursday’s 25-15, 25-23 loss to Lakeview Academy on Thursday.

Brooke Balenger added four kills, Malina Lear had four digs and two aces for the Lady Knights (10-26). Grace Eidson had four assists, two digs and a block.

Johnson plays in the Hall County volleyball tournament on Saturday at Chestatee High in Gainesville.

NORTH HALL SPLITS PAIR: Lily Paschall tallied 36 assists, four kills and two aces to lead the Lady Trojans to a win against Flowery Branch (25-12, 25-16) and a loss to Lambert (22-25, 26-24, 25-22) on Thursday.

Sydney Cleveland added 15 kills, 12 digs and four aces for North Hall, and Makenzie Bryant had 10 digs.

The Lady Trojans host the Hall County Tournament on Saturday in Gainesville.

GAINESVILLE BEATS CHESTATEE: Sydney King notched 25 digs and two aces for the Lady Red Elephants in a 25-13, 25-18 win against Chestatee and a 25-19, 25-19 loss to Mill Creek on Thursday.

Savannah Roys added 15 assists and four aces for Gainesville (21-13, 5-2 Region 8-AAAAA), and Bethany Whitenton had seven aces.

The Lady Red Elephants play in the Hall County Tournament on Saturday at North Hall.

JEFFERSON SWEEPS PAIR: Grace Williamson’s 11 kills and six aces led Jefferson to wins against Lumpkin County (25-19, 25-22) and George Walton Academy (25-15, 25-19) on Thursday at home.

Daniela Franco added eight kills, and Abby Wood had six kills.

EAST HALL TAKES TWO: Minette Maldonado led East Hall with 10 digs, 10 kills, an ace and an assist in wins against Tallulah Falls (25-13, 25-22) and Winder-Barrow (25-17, 23-25, 25-22) on Thursday in Gainesville.

Allyson Segars added 10 digs, eight aces, five kills and two assists for the Lady Vikings (37-8, 3-1 Region 7-AAA), and Cassida Shockley had 28 assists, five digs, four kills and two aces.

East Hall plays in the Hall County Tournament on Saturday at Chestatee.
