High School Scoreboard: Chestatee cross country teams qualify for state meet

Chestatee’s Ivan Martin finished fourth with a time of 16 minutes, 20.1 seconds at the Region 7-AAAA Championship meet, leading his team to a third-place spot Wednesday at Unicoi State Park in Helen. With the top four finish, Chestatee earned a spot to the state championship next week at Carrollton. White County’s boys finished fourth overall.

For Chestatee’s girls, Lindsey Grater (19:16.6) placed fourth. White County’s Jaelen Alexander finished sixth (19:20.5), propelling it to a third-place team finish. The Lady War Eagles earned fourth place and a spot to state.
Marist had the top three individual performers in both races and won the region title. Blessed Trinity took second place in each race.
