The West Hall High volleyball team won the East Hall Spikefest tournament’s gold bracket for the second consecutive year and open the season 5-0 on Saturday. Lady Spartan Kelsi Jones finished the day with 37 kills and nine blocks, LeNiesha Kearse had 22 kills, 17 blocks and 25 digs, Karrie Ruis recorded 15 aces and Laykin Herford had 65 assists. In tournament play, West Hall defeated Gainesville (25-14, 25-21), West Forsyth (25-21, 25-18), Heritage (25-13, 25-17), Jefferson (21-25, 25-14, 15-12) and Habersham Central (25-23, 25-21).
