Hall County Sheriff's Office investigators work the scene of a shooting Wednesday afternoon on Pittman Street.

Authorities are still searching for suspects in a Wednesday afternoon shooting while the condition of the 20-year-old victim has been upgraded from critical to stable.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators are now searching for a black four-door Nissan or Volkswagen “sedan-type car” that had “multiple Hispanic males” inside, according to a statement released Thursday morning by Lt. Scott Ware, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

Officials had reported Wednesday that the suspects fled in a gray Kia Soul, but Ware said investigators no longer believe that vehicle was involved.

The man who was shot in the thigh after an altercation on Pittman Street was out of surgery Thursday morning at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, according to Ware.

The incident was reported around 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to Ware. He said a witness, who was walking with the victim prior to the shooting, told investigators they were being followed by the car on several streets as they walked.

The victim and occupants of the car began fighting on Pittman Street, according to authorities, and Ware said one of the suspects pulled out a silver handgun and shot the victim once.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call investigator Adam Faulkner at 770-531-6879.
