Two storylines emerged Tuesday morning as attorneys laid out how Iris Romero-Banegas, 43, was stabbed repeatedly. Attorneys began with opening statements after 9 a.m. for the trial of Ofelia Barrera-Rodriguez, 49. Assistant District Attorney Ray Mayer addressed the jury first with his description of a “grisly, ghastly, horrific” crime on Dec. 28, 2014.
