Oakwood City Council voted Monday night to approve rezoning 0.89 acres off Perry Lane at Ga. 53/Winder Highway to a highway business designation from residential. The property sits near a strip shopping center that faces Winder Highway. “You’ve got a four-lane highway that’s been recently widened, so I think (the property) can more than accommodate commercial development,” City Manager Stan Brown said.
